HEART AND SEOUL August 14 - 21

HEART

Dear Family,
Add to the happy news of the arrival of Anna Steel on July 10th, the recent news that David's family will increase by two within the next year. Mary Jane and Andrew have announced a new addition to their family in February and Matt and Debbie expect their new one in April. Matt, could you please arrange to have a SON to carry on the Hymas name and as an added favor for your grandpa, to be born on April Ist?
The hot temperatures of Seoul are going down indicating summer is coming to an end. Further indications are that our grandchildren are returning to school. Nancy & Jeff's first is "leaving the nest" as she drives Tyler to BYU Idaho this coming Wednesday. Susan & Mike's children, Jared & Jeff, have returned to Utah State and Westminister while Janie continues her schooling at Dixie and Janessa returning as a senior and Justin enters high school. Most of Ed and Debbie's children are involved in school. Heidi at Murray High and Mark and Tyson are continuing their education in Political Science and business and Jackie has entered her first year in law school at the "U". As to Dan/Ann's children, Jen having completed her schooling, begins her first year of teaching full time in the Davis County School Dist. while Dan continues his schooling at the "U". Both Steve & Liz are also students at the U. David/Jan are pleased to have both Matt and Andrew coming to a closure of their schooling this coming year at BYU. Matt in Construction Management and Andrew in Audio Engineering. Their children at home are excited with their new school year and the opportunities awaiting them. This is a "first", in that ALL of our youngest grandchildren will be in school, so the 2005-06 school year is a banner year for our posterity.

SEOUL

This past week has been extra long because the temple was opened last Monday to accomodate the many patrons who were off for their Independance Day holiday. Though it was long, it was satisfying as we saw the devotion of many faithful members in attendance.
Our English Branch returned to normal as families returned from their vacations in the United States. It is most interesting to us recognizing the many different cultures/nationalities we mingle with in this branch. They come from countries considered or once considered as enemies to the U.S. such as; Russians, Chinese, North Koreans, and Japanese. As we meet them on a weekly basis and have grown to understand and love them it is further evidence to us of God's love for all of His children.
For the first time last Monday, we were entertained at President and Sister Seller's new mission home. As we mentioned earlier the home for the Seoul mission was deemed inadequate and antiquated. Shortly after we arrived here, construction began on a new home closer to the mission office and adjacent to the ward building we formally met for church. This new home turned out beautifully with a magnificent view over the city and was completed in approximately six months. President & Sister Sellers enjoy the association with the temple missionaries as a change from their ever present association with the young elders and sisters so it appears we will continue to meet there twice a month for our family home evenings and twice a month for dinner at Dragon Hill military restaurant.
