HEART AND SEOUL Sept.18-25, 2005

HEART

Dear Family,
Today in Sacrament Meeting we sang from the hymn "Time Flies on Wings of Lightning, You Cannot Call it Back" and we're reminded of our 58th wedding anniversary that we celebrated Friday, September 23rd. We would not want to call time back ( even though those days were full of joy) knowing the exciting and memorable days we are now enjoying and looking forward to in the future.
Friday is normally a non-busy day for us but Col. Potter (no relation to Harry) had called earlier wondering if your dad would perform some sealings in the temple for a number of family names. That gave us a two hour window to celebrate our anniversary between 5 & 7P.M. We took a ten minute walk to a fine Chinese restaurant. There are literally hundreds of restaurants within walking distance from the temple. Some are pricey, some are not, some are fancy, some are plain, some are appealing and some are not. Included in the group are McDonald's, KFC, Burger King, Outback, TGI Friday, Tony Romas, Pizza Hut, Subway and others that originate in America. We opted for a Chinese restaurant which was excellent Chinese food with superb atmosphere. Our two hour time frame went by quickly and we found ourselves back at the temple doing a very romantic thing, sealing families together. So went our anniversary day, not too unlike anniversaries of the past few years.
You children and grandchildren made our day in your thoughtful remembrance, thank you!!!

SEOUL

We have frequent visitors from America and other parts of the world who attend our church services, especially since the Seoul English speaking branch is so centrally located and isn't connected with the military. Many of these same visitors come to the temple and it seems that nearly every day, one or two sessions have interesting visitors. It was of special interest this past week when an impressive young man by the name of Martin (last name) identified himself as being a member of Dan & Ann's stake presidency and nearly wore your dad out lauding the virtues and abilities of them and referred to every one of their children by name even though we knew all these things, it was nice to hear it from someone so far from home.
President & Sister Ringwood's (remember she is daughter of Elder Nelson) son returned from his mission in Brazil (same area David served in) and he attended the temple with his parents and their periodic zone conference at the temple. How well we remembered the excitement, and how well you know the excitement of a son or daughter as they return in honor from serving their missions. We rejoice in last weeks letters received from Curtis and Jake (as you know Jake will be returning home December 14th) and feeling of their testimonies. Our association with all of these missionaries when they come to the temple, is a highlight and we see in them our own grandchildren.
