HEART AND SEOUL Nov. 13, - Nov. 20, 2005

HEART
Dear Family,
About one hundred feet from our apartment is the temple presidents house. The front portion, an area about 25 x 25 ft square, is a room used often by the missionaries for their zone meetings. Last Monday for FHE, we used this room for a dinner catered by a Chinese restaurant close by. It consisted of chinese foods, more like the Chinese are use to than the Chinese foods we have come to love in America, so it met with mixed likings to your parents. It was good but much more than we could eat in one sitting so it provided lunches for most of the week.
We concluded that in spite of the long drive, the warmth and spirit of Pres. Sellers home was better. As we mentioned before, our Thanksgiving Dinner will be spent at President Sellers home with the traditional dinner and all of it's trimmings.

SEOUL

Last week Sister O, the sister in charge of the clothing department in the temple, invited all of us to accompany her on a tour of the Dondemun shopping area. We have been there before and have been amazed at the low, low prices of most everything.
This time our main purpose was viewing the river that for decades has been covered over by highways. It is kind of like the opening up of City Creek in Salt Lake and running down through the new conference center, only about two hundred times bigger. This has been a political issue that the latest mayor of Seoul, with the general enthusiastic approval of the citizens, has opened up to the pleasure and beauty of the city. We walked along it's banks for several blocks.
As if this weren't enough of Sister O's generosity, she insisted of buying our lunch at one of the hundreds of open market food vendors.
Only when you contemplate a city of eleven million people, can you understand the need of so many markets.
