HEART AND SEOUL Nov. 29-Dec.4, 2005

HEART

Dear Family,
This past week has brought a new challenge into our lives we have never experienced and as all new challenges, we have sought heavily for guidance. When your father had emergency need to go to the hospital after living 77years of only being in a hospital visiting others, our hearts were deeply saddened. We have been humbled by the love and concern exhibited by our family. A saddened heart is quickly filled with love and peace of which we want to thank each one of you for. We know Heavenly Father is with each of us and always will be as we continually seek Him for guidance and direction in how best we can serve one another. We love you and thank you for all that you are.

President Ringwood made the comment to your mother at church today; "It is sad that Elder Hymas in his tenth year as a full time missionary had for the first time be a patient in the hospital". As we discussed this event, we have thought perhaps it is the very best place this could have happened in that "everyone" has been so attentive to both of our needs. A deeper appreciation of the gospel of Jesus Christ has been manifested in such a way, we will never be quite the same again. Perhaps this is the very reason we were sent to serve our mission in the Seoul Korea Temple. We know God lives, we know He loves each of his children and we know He is with us always and will answer all of our prayers for our benefit when we seek Him with a sincere heart. Humbly we bear our testimony to each of you that He allowed His only begotten son to take upon him our sins and that thru the Atonement, we may if found worthy, live with Him eternally, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Thanks, Mom and Dad, for the great example you are. You are always in our prayers, but have a added measure of them now. We're certainly glad for emails and the blogger, and hope that everyone is keeping in touch!

Mom and Dad,

We are very concerned for Dad. Ed received your e-mail and he said that he returned it, but we haven't heard any of the details of Dad's condition. Have the determined what the problem is and is Dad on the mend? You are always in our thoughts and prayers. Please update us on Dad's condition when you get a minute.

We love you.

An update is simply that they determined his heart is good with no damage due to the sac surrounding the heart that is filled with infection. This is what caused difficulty in breathing and severe pain each time the heart beat was like rubbing sandpaper on the heart. He takes 3 pills, 3 times a day for this infection. Thru the MRI for the heart, discovered two tumors on the liver. One the size of 50cent piece, the other size of a dollar. One is 100%benign, the other 90%benign. The 10% they are concerned about and they continue to analyze MRI and will take more tests on the 15th. He's gradually gaining strength each day and likewise his ability to breath normally.
