HEART

Dear Family,
Our journal entry this week is centered around the passing of our friend and extended family member, Dean Payne. We were saddened to hear of his death but rejoice in the knowledge of his destination. From the time we first met Dean at the engagement time of David and Jan, he never made us feel less than closest of friends. His greetings were always warm and jovial and he made you feel good in his presense. We were recipients of his and Jaynann's generosity many times and one of our fondest memories was our trip to Mexico the summer of 2003 where we were given the opportunity of becoming better acquainted with not only his children but some of his syblings. We even have fond rememberances of his father and mother, who we felt were the salt of the earth. The reunion taking place in heaven must be a grand event. We know he will be missed by his children and especially Jaynann, but rejoice in knowing he is in a better place.
A recent tender mercy of the Lord has been Tylers temporary placement in the Boise Mission and his assignment to of all places, Caldwell....not only Caldwell but the very building in which Lily attends church. He will be workiing in the Spanish speaking ward where they are having a phenominal number of baptisms. So far, Jim and Sherrie, Lily, Wayne and Eileen, Craig and Linda, John and Nanette (Debbie's brother) have all been advised of his coming and looking forward to hopefully seeing him. Jim happens to be the Ward Mission Leader and has a special feel for Tylers companions.

SEOUL

Last week we told Gilbert Kabonga that we would place his and his wife's name on the temple prayer roll and that we would join with other missionaries prayers in their behalf. He and his wife have been trying for some time now for her visa to be issued to enable her to leave the Congo and come to Korea to be with her husband, and it continued to be met with government red tape. Today after a separation of four and one-half years, Gilberts wife was able to join him and they attended church together. Our remark to them was simply, "prayer works".
The novelty riding the subway has worn off and we have discovered busses. Sometimes, not always, they even get you to your destination quicker but the best thing is being able to see out, since subways travel mostly underground.
Don't take us wrong, subway's are great and the transportation system in Korea is superb.
