HEART March 18-25, 2006

Even though we still have a little less than three months left of our mission, we are beginning to see it's end. Last Monday we had our last FHE at President & Sister Sellers home. Between the comings and goings of other missionaries and President & Sister Sellers themselves, we will no longer be going to their home. These have been special Monday nights for us since coming here. The first of the current group of missionaries to return will be Elder & Sister Hess who finish their mission on the 8th of April. A month later Elder & Sister Kastendieck will be leaving and then us. That will leave two American couples plus three Korean widows to fill in all the gaps that will be left. There are no apparent missionaries coming which is a shame since they are so badly needed.
This past week we were pleased for those of the family who new and were able
to extend their love and support to Jan at the passing of her father. While thinking of love and support, we are ever grateful for you childrens help with one another in your individual needs. We have come to recognize that nothing in this life or in the life to come will be of greater importance than your family and extended family, so keep nurturing every opportunity .

SEOUL

When we first arrived in Seoul the prices seemed overwhelming, especially when it related to food. In each of our former missions we established a budget and by carefully monitering our expenditures we've been able to live within our means. We mentioned at one time, street vendors in the heat of the summer or coldness of the winters, regardless of weather, are there selling their food/merchandise up and down the busy streets of Seoul, but we did not feel comfortable in buying from them. We no longer have this attitude. In fact, many of them have helped us keep our food budget in line as we have purchased their fruits and produce. Some of them even recognize us and give us special favors as we patronize them. This unique cultural feature will be sorely missed upon our return home.
