Family Ties March 18 - 25, 2007

Dear Family,

Congratulations are in order for Clayton who received his Eagle Award on March 11th. He follows in the footsteps of his brother Dallin who received his last year and also Tyler prior. When Tanner and Aaron receive theirs, the Thomas's will tie with the Madsen boys in numbers of Eagles and the Ed Hymas family of boys all having earned their Eagles.

The annual RS birthday social commemoration was held Tuesday. Your mother with some Timberlake sisters attended the celebration held in our Ward building. She reported an outstanding evening. The following night we were invited to dinner at Rick & Pam McIntosh who just live below us. We had a delicious grilled steak dinner and enjoyed a lovely evening. We are their Home Teachers and have become close friends.

Every year our ward holds a youth auction where the youth donate their services and ward members donate various items. Every year it seems a greater success and this year the bishop indicated to us over eight thousand dollars had been raised for the coming year's youth activities. In addition to the dinner put on by the youth, they also donated over 250 man hours of service in expression of their gratitude. We were unable to attend so we made a donation.

Robert & Susan Sorensen invited us to the wedding reception of their son, Ryan, who was married that Friday. These people had become good friends and great supporters of our missionary efforts in Germany. It was great to see them again.

It appears that the Sorensons have sold their cabin to June's brother, Monty Pendleton, who must sell his present home in California before moving here. We hope this is the case so that we will be comfortable with our new neighbors.

Your mother's lesson Sunday was on the Power of Testimony and it served as an excellent setting for General Conference this next week-end for both her and the sisters in Relief Society.
