Family Ties March 4 - 18, 2007

Dear Family,

Two weeks have gone by since we last wrote. During that time, one week was spent by Marie at the home of Dave & Jan tending Dottie, the turtle and Christine, Ben, Natalie and Monica. She well learned once again the responsibility of parenthood as she transported children to and from school, dancing lessons and other extra curricular activities. She also received first hand enjoyment of the fruits of all of these activities as she attended performances by Ben and the choir he was in and also the band concert where he plays the clairanet. The Spring Concert for the Drill Team Christine is in and enjoyed her solo as well as the whole Drill team performances. The Dance competition of Natalie and Monica was held Saturday but we were unable to attend as we were serving in the temple.

The purpose of the above activity was David and Jans well deserved trip to Hawaii with Spencer & Emily and Cyndi and Micahael. Having returned home just last night, we have yet to hear the details of their vacation.

Between the duties mentioned above, Marie was able to spend significant amount of her week restoring to it's original charm our apartment which included cleaning the couch and chairs given us by Nancy and Jeff, almost to their pristene condition. Johnny in the meantime spent a lonely week in our cabin home where he was able to accomplish much in our heritage book.

Speaking of travels, besides Dave & Jan to Hawaii; Susan, Mike, Janessa & Justin took a vacation trip to first Georgia where they visited with Julie and Wades family onto New York and finally to spend several days with Nancy & Jeff and saw a bit of Maines winter (cold, cold, cold). St. George must have looked pretty good when they got home with it's 80 degree weather. This coming Friday Dan & Ann will once again travel to California where they will visit with Lisa & Travor and Ann will remain for an additional time with Lisa while Trevor takes another trip East on business.
A week ago (Friday/Saturday) Jason and three of his friends spent time at the cabin and reported an enjoyable time.

Besides our usual Saturday temple days, Marie was able to go to the Provo temple with her R.S. friends and then this past Friday the two of us attended the Ward Temple Day where included in the 27 people attending were five of our past temple prep class members. Also Friday we celebrated Martha Lingards birthday by going to breakfast at the recently resurrected Finns.

So many good things are happening in our family, the most recent is the announcement by Julie that Wade has been hired in a prominent position with Skywest Airlines which will enable them to return to St. George where they both grew up and both have families living there. You can imagine how happy they must be over this recent event. Wade has terminated his employment with Ernst and Young who have been so very good to him over the past nine years and he leaves with their blessings.
