HEART April 2 - April 9, 2006

Dear Family,

We returned today from viewing conference a second time. This time being at our branch chapel. Of unusual significance we and others were impressed with the beautiful prayers that were offered in each session. President Hinckley also commented on them. It brought to our minds the importance of prayer and how over the last two or more years nearly all of you have been the object of our prayers and prayers of the family both in and out of the temple. Prayer works and without fail prayers have been answered to the ultimate benefit and blessing to the one prayed for. Sometimes faith was exercised and blessings received unknown to the recipient.
As your parents, even though we are so far away, you are all constantly in our prayers. Sometimes the needs are greater with some but never-the less the Lord bestows blessings as needed. We also recognize we are recipients of your prayers and have been bouyed up many times.
Standing in the prayer circle most every day and being taught the true order of prayer, it has given us a lot of thought about prayer. In the bible dictionary it says: "The object of prayer is not to change the will of God, but to secure for ourselves and for others blessings that God is already willing to grant, but that are made conditional on our asking for them. Blessings require some work or effort on our part before we can obtain them. Prayer is a form of work, and is an appointed means for obtaining the highest of all blessings."
We are thankful we have the opportunity to serve in the Lord's house and participate in the prayer circle, seeking for blessings whose names lie upon the alters and whom God is able to grant the HIGHEST OF BLESSINGS, according to their faith united with our faith. May we continue to seek for the highest of blessings is our prayer.

SEOUL

The temple is now closed for the next two weeks. During which time a thorough spring cleaning and minimal changes will be made to it's physical requirements. Brother Dunford and brother Prickett from the church temple department were here last week to appraise the needs and to review the correctness of the ordinance work. We came through with flying colors much to the pleasure of President Lee.
Spring is obviously here as the trees, shrubs and flowers show off their splendor. We could say that the temple has never looked more beautiful, but summer brings out even more brilliance and the temple plot remains an oasis in the middle of this huge city. People, especially members of the church, are drawn to the temple site for it's refreshing peace.
