HEART March 26-April 2, 2006

This week-end has brought special birthday greetings and exciting news from most of you. Your father turned 78 and celebrated his birthday with the purchase of a new birthday suit (his old one was getting quite old & wrinkled - joke). This white suit is customed made by a well known Korean tailor, Byung Hak Kim, and will serve him well in his temple duties. Before attending our weekly movie, we went to dinner at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Itewon where we bought the suit.
The happy news was the arrival of Gavin Harold Hymas on March 27th to Matt and Debbie. Not only is he the first great grandson to bear the name Hymas, but will also bear the name Harold. Debbie and baby are reported doing well.
Another happy event was the sealing of baby Grace to her parents, Russ and Tommi. This took place in the Salt Lake Temple, Friday, March 31st and was lovingly supported by family. How blessed we are to have her in the family.
Lily has reported visiting with Tyler as she sought him out while attending church in the same building. Rather than being disappointed that his visa to Spain has not arrived, Tyler exudes enthusiasm over his assignment in the spanish speaking mission of Caldwell where baptisms are a frequent and usual occurance and in which he has already participated.
Less happy news was Dallins broken wrist while snowboarding with family in Colorado. Way to go, Dallin. Though a bad break, his parents report he is dong well. It seems that sports take their tole in our family...Jeff Madsen with his tongue bite & shoulder separation; his dad's tennis back; Steve with leg injury and Dan with broken finger playing with his new snow blower.
All in all, we are a "Happy Family".

SEOUL

We arose early this morning, 2a.m., and were able to view conference over the BYU channel on our computer. We then went to bed for two hours and awakened to watch the second session. What a joy this computer has been. Before we had only been able to listen but this time, we were able to view it live.
Your parents have been called to teach in the month of April the Gospel Essential/Investigator class in Sunday School. Today it was attended by two recent Korean converts, four investigators and Brother and Sister Kabongo plus a few missionaries. Brother Kabongo received the priesthood today and bore a powerful testimony in Sacrament Meeting. His testimony was directed mainly to his wife, Mbuyi (Mooie) whose main language is French and was interpreted by a Phillipine/French member. Through the efforts of our missionaries Sister Kabongo has commited to baptism. This is a nice opportunity for us to be involved in the proselyting arm of our mission.
