HEART June 4 - June 11, 2006

Dear Family,
We were delighted to hear from Mary Jane of the arrival of our newest Great Granddaughter, Mauguerite Jolie (means "beautiful" in French) and to shorten Alyssa has named her Maggie. She weighs 8lbs.9oz. and 19inches long and arrived May 25th. Congradulations to the Moody's!!! She gets her name from her parents mission and her dark complextion from her dad (or maybe the Asian influence of her great-grandparents?)
Since Jeff has given permission to reveal this to family, it appears the Thomas family will be moving to Portland, Maine. Since Jeff first indicated an interest in the Idexx company, they have pursued him vigerously to assume the position of Vice President over a core of engineers. He for some time has been concerned about the direction of his current employment and Idexx services the animal industry in somewhat the same way his current company services humans. For several weeks Jeff and Nancy have been pondering this move. Jeff interviewed with them earlier and last week both he and Nancy were flown back for a final interview and a chance to inspect their new surroundings. Jeff has little doubt about it being the right move job wise, they both have the natural concerns over the long term effect on their family. Because of the way they live, we have complete confidence they will make the right choice in the decision to be made this week, but it will be hard to see them move so far away.

The Monsoon Season is here and in spite of the heavy rain Sisters Hymas and Guinn enjoyed a fun trip to Itaewon where because of "coming out in the rain" was given a discount price on four Mink blankets Sister Guinn purchased. Watching them get in and off the bus with these king-size blankets and belting rain, was a sight to see...only in Korea.
Tuesday was a red letter day for us. We witnessed the leaving of Elder & Sister Kastendieck for their home in Canada and since it was a national holiday in Korea, the temple opened early (6a.m.) to accommodate the faithful Latter Day Saints who came to the temple from many stakes in the southern areas of Korea which necessitated sessions every twenty minutes most of the morning. It was an exceptionaly busy day and we further recognized our value to the temple as missionaries.
