HEART May 28 - June 4, 2006

With the help of Susan, Julie and Wade are now settled in their home in Atlanta where Wade will direct the auditing of the books for Delta Airline who is struggling with their financial woes. Susan returned home to attend Janessa's graduation from Pine View High school and Janie's graduation from Dixie and then returned home from the cruise, in time for Jeff's graduation on June 3rd from Westminster College. To continue their epic journey, they are going to the cabin for spring clean-up as a welcome home present and how appreciative we are for that. We want to give a heart-felt thanks to Mike & Susan for accepting the responsibility of the cabin these past eighteen months. Thanks to Julie for the scheduling part and a special thanks to Jeff for his caring for all monthy utility bills and cabin financial needs.
We continue to hear of travels of our family...Ann & Dan to see their grandchildren in California, Dan to Spokane for business, Jeff to Canada for business and now Nancy & Jeff to Maine on business. Cyndi & Mike are in a new home and Cyndi's baby girl is due now.


SEOUL

President John Madsen and wife Annette invited us to spend part of Monday with them. He is president of the service mens district which comprises all of the English speaking and Military Branches in Korea. He took us to the huge Flower Market where tons of flowers of all kinds are brought into this warehouse and put on display for dealers as well as public buyers. Can you believe that we bought three dozen long stem roses and one dozen carnation for just under ten dollars. All week our apartment has looked like a funeral parlor but we have enjoyed them immensely. Before returning home, we had lunch at the Food Court in the largest grocery store (Hanaro) we have ever seen and certainly the largest in Korea. Imagine a Super Walmart being devoted entirely to groceries and food items...Hanaro would be even larger. We had (doesn't this sound delicious) black bean noodles for lunch which we had tried one previous time and had found them to our liking. This was done in honor of us and the Kastendiecks and were you to come to Korea it would be a highlight....truly awe inspiring.
Having completed their mission, Gary & Uta Kastendieck are returning home this coming Tuesday. The Saturday shift of temple workers held a farewell for them yesterday. Since we are also leaving so soon, it was in our honor likewise. We have been treated royally by everyone here.
Our Branch Presidency ask us to speak on the 18th of June in Sacrament Meeting. Since this is Father's Day, there is no way we can utilize the same talk in our Lake Creek 2nd ward the next Sunday...tooo bad.
