Family Ties April 22 - May 6, 2007

Dear Family,

After returning home from St. George, we took care of matters at home. Since we had snow for two or three days, we utilized precious time on our book before going to Highland. There we celebrated the graduation of Matt who graduated in Construction Management and Andrew in Media Electronics.
Mary Jane and sisters had programmed redecorating Natalie and Monica's room but had never been able to find time in their busy schedules to do the actual painting. We undertook this service and spent Friday, April 27th painting their room a bright and cheery buttercup yellow. To say the least, everyone was pleased with the final results. We remained in Highland to do our temple service on Saturday and attended church with David's family. Their ward was having it's Ward Conference which was extremely well planned under the direction of their newly sustained Stake President, who is the son of Grant Bangerter. Sunday evening our three sons, David, Dan & Ed with their wives Jan, Ann and Deb joined us for an evening of socializing in our Highland apartment. It was so good to be together that we decided to meet quarterly where each one would take their turns in planning the activity. The first meeting after ours will be July 13 and will be sponsored by David and Jan.

On Monday we met with a group of friends from our Nauvoo mission at the Golden Corral in Sandy. Here we were brought up to date on some of the happenings in Nauvoo. It was here that we renewed our friendship with Angus Belliston and wife, Jenny who recommended an historic bed and breakfast in Nauvoo where we have since arranged to stay while on our trip with Lily. Our trip plans are progressing nicely and we are looking forward to our trip which will occur in just three weeks. Eileen has expressed her thanks in your prayers in behalf of Wayne who has made signifacnt improvement.

We are still a traveling family. Susan and Janie have been in Atlanta assisting Julie in her move to St. George where she and Wade have purchased a lovely home in Santa Clara. Their move is taking place at this time. Dan and Ann are leaving next Saturday for a week's vacation in Mexico. Deb reported her trip with Heidi for National Drill Team in Florida and Heidi has been elected Drill Team President for her senior year. Jan reported on Christine's travels to New York & California for Drill Team and Valley Forge where she even was able to do some missionary work with her roommate from Boston and where she got acquainted with some of Justin's friends. Curtis and Desiree left for Madison, Wisconsin where they will be working this summe (hoping to make "good" money)where their living conditions are superb. Whitney has elected to go to BYU where she already has her housing established. Tyler has been called to work in the office of his mission for the next few months. Dan reported Steve's enjoyment in his training...especially the different ways in handling guns. Russ is representative of J. Reuben Clark Law organization. We were happy of the reports from all of our children...everyone is doing well and enjoying life to it's fullest.

By the way, are you aware that Kyle and Debbie's son Adam, won twenty five thousand dollars on "So You Want to Be a Millionaire"?

When we returned to our cabin Monday afternoon to the most beautiful weather. We spent the following days clearing debree from our lot and preparing for the summer. Towards the end of the week brought winter snows and our return to "indoor" needs. This storm brought six inches. The poor birds, flowers and deer are confused as to the season. (You dad is the most confused)
