HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, NANCY & JEFF
Though most of your twenty-one years of marriage have been spent in Colorado, these next years may be some of your most interesting.
After watching the pioneer day parade on television with Dan, Ann, Steve & Liz, we drove to Ed's house who in turn took your parents to the airport where we flew to Denver and joined up with Susan and then picked up by Nancy.
Early the next morning and for the following four days, we packed every thing possible into shipping cartons in preparation for the Thomas's moving to Falmouth, Maine...a small suberb outside the city of Portland. Though the work was exhausting it was exhilerating to not only be able to serve but be with family members. In the nearly two years since we have seen them, the Thomas children have grown so much. Whitney, Dallin and Clayton have become young adults and Tanner & Aaron are no longer little boys. While we were there Clayton received his Eagle Award. The honors and accoloades given to Nancy, Jeff and their children were heart warming and knowing how much they will be missed in Fort Collins suggests how much they will be appreciated in Portland.
While we were there, they received confirmation that their offer had been accepted on their new home. Though they are leaving a beautiful home, they are moving into one that can become just as beautiful.
Jeff returned home in time to take Susan and us to dinner at the "On the Border" restaurant which was excellent. Susan's help was invaluable. We could not have accomplished the task without her and we know that it was with personal sacrifice on her part to leave at the time she did. As generous as was her time, so was Mike's generosiy in providing airfare for the three of us. Had not Nancy and Jeff had things in such good order, we too could have not accomplished all that was needed to be done.
Nancy drove us all to the airport yesterday morning where we returned to the quietude of our surroundings knowing we were leaving Nancy and Jeff the task of hosting Jeff's family for a week long reunion at Estas Park and then will be faced with the final move to Maine.
Thanks family for your ever loving support of each other.
