Family Ties May 13 - May 27, 2007
Dear Family,
Matt, Debbie and children came up for FHE last Monday with Monica to play with the children. Part of our evening was spent discussing with Matt a portion of the heritage book that he has volunteered to help us with. Their most beautiful children were a delight and especially Gavin who just these past few days has started walking.
We also had a surprise visit from Alonzo Cook and his wife Linda on Tuesday, who you will remember was the chairmen of the Cook Reunion in Cedar Fort. They shared lunch with us and spent part of the afternoon visiting and helping us with using the computer to establish input of our famiy.
During the middle of the week, we had an invitation from our Mission President in Seoul, Korea (Pres. & Sis. Brian Sellers) inviting us for a get together with some of our ex-missionary couples in their lovely home in Cottonwood Height. Friday afternoon, we left and attended the pot luck social. It was so good to see them and Scott & Nona Hess, Margaret & Glen Haus, Dan & Pat Knowlton and a couple (Harold Stott and his wife Mary Beth)with whom we had corresponded but had never met since they left the mission just prior to our coming. We shared lots of memories together before traveling to Highland to spend the night before our Temple service on saturday. We were pleased to see the progress Dave & Jan had made on their yard since the previous Saturdays work.
This afternoon, Ed & Debbie with Trent & Heidi, Tyson & his friend Lacey came up for Ed's birthday dinner. What a delight to have them here. They reported that Melissa's baby is a boy. Braden is happy but Macie wanted a sister. The week began and ended as our highlight, since nothing equals the companionship of our children.
We just had phone call from Dan & Ann who reported on their trip to Cancun as one of their most delightful vacations. They also informed us that Steve & Liz proposal on a new house had been accepted and that they will be moving in next week. Way to go Steve...New job, New baby, and New home!!!
This coming week will be spent in preparation for our trip with Lily and with the wedding of Kyle & Debbie's last & youngest child, Kris. We hope we see our famiy there since it will be our "goodbye" before leaving on our trip.
Finally, this will likely be our last blog until we return home from our trip at which time we will give our report. Thanks to all of you for your love and your support...you are making this trip special for us.
